Sorry, I'm way behind in replying to comments but I've been feeling a bit feverish today and the jury's still out on whether it's the bacon flu or just that time of the month.

Anyway, I was reading the comments about this week's episode at [info]b5_revisited when I suddenly remembered that I used to write short episode reviews back when I was first watching the show over ten years ago, and that I actually still had those reviews saved in my archive.

I just spent few hours reading them and damn, my nineteen-year-old self was such an adorable little idiot :D

eta: No! I did not just compare B5 to Beverly Hills 90210 in my review of "The SUmmoning"!
Son of eta: And I appear to have really, really, really hated Garibaldi for some reason... (and also Refa, but that was just because he was mean to Londo)

Oh. Oh! Oh!!

I think I just solved the problem I have been having with "When the Rest of the Heaven Was Blue" (aka The Spike/Buffy Timetravel WIP That Has Been Stuck For Over a Year). I was writing a completely different fic when suddenly *DING* I knew what to do with that one vital scene in the second to last chapter that has been holding up the story.

Anyone want to do a beta for me if I try to get the next chapter polished in time for my [info]seasonal_spuffy next Sunday? What I need is someone who is a) willing to really tear the story apart, and b) maybe know a bit of something about Victorian England.

I love my stupid new show

There's is only about three people on my f-list who even watch The Mentalist, so I'm basically talking to myself here, but I dun care. *hugs show*

I came to the conclusion a while ago that I like this show enough that I want to watch the show as it airs in the US, and so what I did was download the important episodes of S1 + what had aired of S2, and caught up with the main plot, while continuing to watch the rest of S1 as it airs in Finland. Which turned out to be a good choice, because the S2 episodes haven't been nearly as stupid as S1 :)

Today, however, was a turn for a S1 episode, namely Red Brick and Ivy )

eta: Okay, so I couldn't resist and also watched this week's S2 episode, Red Blood and Black Gold )

Buffy/Booth Fics

I'm trying to find any Buffy the Vampire Slayer/Bones crossover fics that have a Buffy/Booth romance.  I have been able to find several Buffy/Booth fics that are not completed and would love to find one that is actually finished.  If you could point me in the right direction I would appreciate it.

Double Birthday.....mine and Buffy's OMWF....


Yep i am right, you haven't read anything between the lines....it's my Birthday, LOL. Not only that, though, obviously....it's Once more with feeling's eight birthday.  The epi was aired on the 6th of November, 2001. I am not kidding you, i am proud of that date.
So, for this extremely special occasion i have  made 106 special icons of the episode. Enjoy my cake and comment, please.


A little extra to add...i decided it's right to post this here, because OMWF is a Spuffy episode, but i warn you, there are many other characters included. Anyway i thought it'd be wrong not to share them here too.

Errr... I was creating a Google Maps account, and when I was filling my personal information, it automatically suggested few website that could be tied to my profile: My Picasa account. My Google Reader account. [info]babylon5_love.

Un souvenir délicieux

Let me first say I had a glass of tasty white wine Pouilly-Fuissé , it may explain why I’m writing this down

Read the last chapter of [info]nautibitz ’s Crave and it made me smile (contentedly ) to see that Spike speaking French to Buffy ( he’s been doing it for a while now throughout the story ) is regarded as an absolute , irresistible seduction -obviously, the words themselves have the capacity to melt the ice-floe so it’s not solely the accent . ;)
It has to be said that men from foreign countries speaking French can leave me shivering with delight.
Well, some of them.

During a meet and greet , I had once the opportunity to ask James just after he said he had wonderful memories of his last trip to France and especially enjoyed visiting Notre Dame de Paris to tell me a few words in Molière’s tongue .
He did.
J'aime la France.J'aimerais y retourner un jour. sounded deliciously sexy , I confirm.

Being Human s.2 is, with Caprica , the only series I look forward to next January . I’ve read that people were upset over the American version that is going to be produced . Well it sounds like it will suck big time but what is new? I never was very positive about the idea of any remake of a great T.V show or movie , they’re rarely satisfying.
Why bother to watch a U.S version when we have the real , good , original thing ?
I won’t freak out over this shiny new thingy as long as the BBC keeps giving us the same captivating show

I also look forward to the James February event in London . It looks like we should get a theatre performance ( I’ve read it somewhere ,I think) which is always exciting and a fine way of enjoying James’s delicious acting skills . Who 's planning to go?

I’m very behind on my [info]seasonal_spuffy reading , the good thing in it is that it will be a treat to have many stories to discover

While browsing for ebooks on poetry ( I ‘ve finished the beautiful recueil Ton âme est un soleil by M.Odile Bodenheimer , I 've found myself wandering around ..different territories

This is a placeholder for my Yuletide ficathon Secret Santa letter. Content will magically appear here later.

Dear Yulegoat,

(as we say here in Finland)

First, a few general likes:

- I'm a canon-girl above all else, so I prefer canon-compliant fic over crack and silliness. I also like subtlety: angst but not melodrama, darkfic but not torture-pon, romance but not too much saccharine, humour but not crack. But in general anything goes as long as it's true to the characters :)
- Likewise, I tend to prefer gen and canon pairings over non-canon slash/het but I am nevertheless open to pretty much any pairing as long as you can make it work ;)
- Any rating goes. I prefer plot/character over porn, but if the story calls for sex, go for it.
- Hurt/comfort is my not-so-secret vice.
- I don't really have any squicks, so anything goes as long as it's in-character. Same with character death - I have nothing against it, as long as it's not done just for shock value.

And I don't really have any characters that I dislike in any of these fandoms - in fact, I love pretty much everyone in all four - so no need to worry about accidentally including someone who I don't like.

So the little poll yesterday was interesting : all the people voting admitted that they experienced vulnerability when posting.Does that mean that those who didn’t participate would have picked -1 or -6 ( foreign concept) and that we look like strange animals to them? ;-)

The majority expressed that it could happen if they shared things more personal, more intimate, which isn’t surprising.
There’s also the natural fear : how will my fic/thoughts/art be received ?
If you decide to show some parts of what you are , you lay yourself open to criticism .
I can only speak for myself but I can well feel vulnerable when my emotions are on display,when the others can have a glimpse into all the things that matter to me.

I think it’s fine to admit being vulnerable (or slightly insecure in my case )sometimes.
I’m glad many people let me know they were .
I ‘m open about my feelings ,I know no other way ( perhaps this entry could belong to the vulnerable!category )

As much as I can tell since I tried to catch up, I've missed a few entries about online relationships, and how we take them.Read more... )
